AviationManuals Names Caitlin Windland IT Project Manager

AviationManuals, the leading provider of aircraft manual development services and flight operations Safety Management System (SMS) software for business aviation, has appointed industry expert Caitlin Windland as Information Technology Project Manager.

Previously, Windland was a software quality assurance analyst and a flight coordinator for Rockwell Collins ARINC DirectSM Flight Support Services in Annapolis, Md. Prior to that, she was a First Officer and Aviation Administrator for Energy Air Corporation in Spencer, W.Va.

“With her strong piloting, software and flight coordinator background, Caitlin has already added immense expertise to our team,” said AviationManuals CEO Mark Baier. “We have exciting new software upgrades and apps planned for 2017 and Caitlin will oversee these new product developments as well as client site customizations ensuring continued customer experience improvement.”

Windland comes from a family of passionate aviators that owns several aircraft such as Cessnas and a Stinson. She is an instrument and commercial rated pilot and earlier in her career was a First Officer on Cessna Citations and Bell helicopters.

Windland has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She is pursuing a master’s from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Aeronautics, specializing in Space Studies and Unmanned Aerospace Systems. She has also attended Rockwell Collins University for career development in Systems Engineering and Systems Integration Verification and Validation.

AviationManuals has delivered nearly 3,000 RVSM/International Operations Manuals and more than 1,200 custom Flight Operations Manuals for multiple registries. The company has more than 600 subscribers to its International Operations Update Service and eBulletins, and, in just the past several years, has provided 950 Datalink and ADS-B Letters of Authorization. In addition, there are over 1,200 users of AviationManuals SMS software, known as ARC, with that number accelerating over the past two years.
